A first look at the Surface Studio 2

Microsoft's second generation of Surface Studio is officially released today. The exterior looks almost alike using a classic Studio hinge with an aspect ratio of 28: 3: 2. This huge all-in-one PC can be converted to a nearly flat drawing mode. Today's Microsoft press conference in New York gave us an early look at Surface Studio 2. It was nice to see Microsoft focus primarily on internal structure through this refresh.

The exterior looks and feels the same. The same device that was shipped two years ago. Microsoft brightened the display by 38% and improved the contrast by 22%, but it was not immediately noticeable. The Surface Studio display was always amazing. This is very much the same.

This is actually included here. The original Surface Studio was shipped with a hybrid drive that was not kept with the old PC components. Microsoft has upgraded storage to a 2TB SSD of the higher model or a 1TB SSD of the base model. Unfortunately, Microsoft is using the 7th generation Intel Core i7 processor in Surface Studio 2. This is a disappointing choice for this expensive hardware.

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 or GTX 1070 with storage enhancements. You need to lower the display's native resolution, but both cards are good at gaming. Get the best performance from the latest true games.

This Pascal-based Nvidia chip also helps improve video processing or image editing in Surface Studio 2. Even display changes will be welcomed by the creative community and continue to support sRGB color gamut with DCI-P3 and Vivid modes for Microsoft display.

Microsoft has made the right changes to Surface Studio 2 in addition to the processor. The company is pre-ordering for this new model starting at $ 3,499 and should start shipping before the end of the year.
