Apple, Amazon among companies adjusting operations amid demonstrations

Amazon, Target and Apple have modified their business operations over the weekend in light of demonstrations in cities across the United States, Bloomberg said.

Apple has closed many retail stores on Sunday, including some retail stores that were reopened after closing for weeks due to an epidemic. The subject said it closed 32 stores in the Minneapolis area and will temporarily close several stores nationwide on Sunday.

Amazon told Bloomberg that the route “in a small city” was reduced and adjusted to ensure worker safety. According to Bloomberg drivers in Chicago and Los Angeles were asked to stop delivering packages and return home on Saturday.

Minneapolis was the largest protest site for the death of George Floyd, who died last week after a Minneapolis police officer kneeled on his neck for several minutes. The officer was later fired and charged with third-degree murder and murder.
