Vizio opens signups for Smartcast 3.0 beta ahead of Apple support

Vizio announced that Smart TV owners can join the beta version for the SmartCast 3.0 update (19459003 Engadget ), which will be released this spring and is a smart TV suitable for Apple Airplay 2 and HomeKit support.

The company has begun signing up for a beta version available in "Q1 2019" and will be more widely available for updates on SmartCast TV and displays during the second quarter of this year.

At this year's CES, Apple launched its first integration of AirPlay 2 support for Vizio, LG and Samsung Smart TVs. Vizio's update is the first step in bringing AirPlay 2 and HomeKit compatibility to consumers, allowing you to rent content from your TV to iTunes or control it with Siri. At the show, Vizio said that the 2014 TV will include Airplay 2 and "fit" SmartCast TV will provide software updates.
